North Wales Business School is part of the Faculty for Social and Life Sciences. Delivering across a range of business subject areas and with a focus on student experience, and teaching and learning excellence, the school is expanding its online post graduate degrees to enable our students to study flexibly to achieve their professional and academic ambitions.

The Role
We are seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Business and Data Analysis. The successful candidate will lead and contribute to the teaching and learning of business analytics modules and the integration of data analysis across business modules at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. In particular, the post holder will be expected to provide teaching of practical, academic and research skills in business analysis software (such as Tableau), machine learning, database management, data analytics software (e.g., Weka, SPSS), and statistical programming languages (e.g. Python). Teaching will be on campus and online.
We welcome candidates who have experience in areas of business analytics with a focus on performance and behavioural analytics, optimization and decision analysis, and artificial intelligence. A wider background in quantitative subjects such as statistical analysis, dashboards and data, forecasting, econometrics is desirable.
Candidates with a background of practical business within the industry and service sectors are welcome to apply, to support the teaching and learning of business analytics to a broad range of business subject areas, students and researchers within the business school.
You will be responsible for module leadership, ensuring the business school is kept up to date with the latest research, business practices and new developments within the business data analytics field. You will also be expected to teach across other business modules as required. Additionally, you will be expected to contribute to academic research within your field of expertise.
This role will focus on your professional practice, knowledge and industry experience within your specialism, calling upon your skills and expertise within a business setting, providing students with real world challenges and dialogues, with emphasis on theory to practice. You will be expected to develop a strong industry network and demonstrate confidence and credibility liaising with different sectors and industries.
You will undertake the day-to-day teaching, learning and management of modules, ensuring there is continuity of teaching and assessment, quality assurance, enhancement, and successful engagement within student and academic processes. You will work closely with students, team members, and colleagues across the wider university to ensure a positive learning experience, and to foster a culture of inclusivity.
Experience of teaching and learning within the higher education business school sector would be an advantage.
Furthermore, you will demonstrate enthusiasm for teaching, learning and research, contributing to the school’s wider developments and areas of growth, fostering key relationships with industries and other partners and stakeholders.
The role is wide-ranging, and you will need to be a self-motivated individual who can work flexibly and to deadlines, both autonomously and as part of a team. You will have outstanding communication, organisation and time management skills, to ensure the online programmes run smoothly and efficiently, to meet programme and University targets.
