Finance Business Partnering Assistant HEIW Programmes

The Finance Team provides financial support to the University encompassing the budgeting, monitoring and reporting of all financial information alongside the transactional services of payroll, accounts receivable and accounts payable.

This exciting new role will be responsible for a range of financial and non-financial requirements relating to students studying our Nursing and Allied Health courses (Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Dietetics, Speech and Language Therapy, Operating Department Practitioner and Paramedic Science), which are funded by NHS Wales via Health Education and Improvement Wales (HEIW).

We are looking for a candidate with excellent Microsoft Excel skills and experience of accounting and bookkeeping procedures as some of their key responsibilities will be to work with finance colleagues to arrange bursary payments to students, issue invoices to funding bodies and students for tuition fees and ensure that an accurate rolling forecast is maintained on student enrolments to inform current and future year forecasting.

The candidate will have strong data analysis skills as they will also be responsible for developing processes relating to collecting, recording and reporting accurate information on current students and graduating students to external bodies such as HEIW and the Nursing and Midwifery Council.

The ideal person will have a proven ability to build productive relationships as the role involves providing financial support and advice to students and staff as well as liaising with external bodies such as NHS Wales, HEIW and Student Awards Services.

This is an ideal opportunity for an AAT level 3 qualified or part qualified CIMA/CCAB accountant. If you have well-developed technical, interpersonal and team working skills that can actively contribute to the University’s priorities and with the ability to work effectively across teams to achieve shared goals, this could be the role for you.

The post will be part of a wider team of Finance Business Partners providing a range of financial support, analysis and reporting that supports the University’s priorities and will be required to assist with this as required.
