Planning Officer - Business Intelligence

The Directorate for Strategic Planning and Student Administration invites applications to the role of Planning Officer – Business Intelligence. This role is situated within the Planning and Reporting Team and will report to the Planning Manager – Business Intelligence. The Planning Officer will support activities across the Directorate but will also have the following key areas of responsibility:

  • To assist with the overall development and implementation of a range of data dashboards to support strategic decision making within the institution.
  • To assist with the further development, improvement and expansion of dashboards once they are established to ensure that these continue to meet the data requirements of the institution.
  • The day to day administration and maintenance of the institution’s BI dashboards.

The successful candidate will have excellent analytical and data visualisation skills, with a keen attention to detail and ability to work methodically and to the highest standards of accuracy, consistency and thoroughness. They will have a proven ability to develop detailed and effective Business Intelligence dashboards as well as the ability to analyse data and identify trends.

The role will play a key part in an exciting and fast-paced environment within the University. As such, key attributes for the post holder include: a strong track record of using PowerBI, an understanding of data visualisation best practice, and personal drive and commitment.
