Digital Systems & AI Integration Associate (SMART Partnership Associate)

Salary £33,000 plus £2,000 bespoke training budget

Full-time, 12-month fixed term contract, to drive forward a project between Wrexham University and Flintshire County Council, based in St Davids Park, Ewloe, Flintshire

We seek to employ a graduate in Computing, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Information Technology or related field who will lead the design, build, implementation and embedding of Flintshire County Council’s integrated AI decision support tool within frontline service delivery.

Working with the Wrexham University’s Academic Supervisors and Flintshire County Council’s Digital Solutions Team, this role will transform how residents access help and support across the county. By co-developing an AI-powered information hub, the project will enable frontline staff within the Housing area to quickly and accurately match people with the services that best meet their needs, allowing caseworkers to support people directly and residents a smoother journey to the right support.

In this role, you’ll apply AI and machine learning models, working with diverse data sets and using your organisational, teamworking, and communication skills to create a powerful and user-friendly tool which will ultimately provide valuable insights into service demand and gaps, supporting smarter commissioning and better use of public resources.

Alongside Flintshire CC coaching and mentoring to develop your experience and understanding to complete the project successfully, there is a £2,000 bespoke training budget available to support the post-holder.  

Whilst there will be opportunity for the role holder to work flexibly they will work mainly from the Flintshire County Council offices in Ewloe and at Wrexham University on occasion.

This appointment is made as a result of the approval of a Welsh Government-funded SMART Partnership with Flintshire County Council.
