The Innovation Manager will provide an effective management role with the experience, management and higher level commercial skills to advise, develop and deliver against the University’s Enterprise KPIs, including:

  • Business development activity that maximises commercial opportunities for the university, meets local industry needs and supports student outcomes;
  • Industry-focused courses including apprenticeships;
  • Entrepreneurship development activity for students and alumni
  • Knowledge transfer activity;
  • Innovation development;
  • Develop long term, sustainable business relationships and partnerships with industry and employers in the regions and beyond

The Innovation Manager is an integral role reporting to the Head of Enterprise and Development, which will have responsibility for working with academics across the university to support the development of ideas, commercialisation of research, and provide guidance to enable the creation and sustainability of academic and industry relationships.  The role holder will also support the promotion of university’s expertise and knowledge transfer activities, to businesses, individuals and stakeholders. The role holder will also support the development of new businesses and concepts for the university by providing Intellectual Property and spin-out expertise when required to both students and staff.

The ability to communicate in Welsh is desirable for this post.
