Full time - Fixed term for 9 months (Maternity Cover)

An opportunity has arisen within the Admissions and Enquiries Team for a customer-service focused professional to join the team as an Admissions Officer (maternity cover). This new role will join the team at a crucial time for Wrexham University as we manage the growth in applications, particularly for Allied Health and Nursing courses and look to continue to develop our processes and procedures to remain on top of sector best practice in a challenging recruitment environment. Working for and with the Admissions Manger within the wider Marketing and Recruitment department and other relevant colleagues, they will support and deliver applicant engagement and communication.

The successful candidate will ideally have knowledge and experience of working within higher education in student admissions (or similar) and the associated working practices and requirements.  They will ideally be similarly familiar with current best practice within the sector and the principles of fair admissions, although applications from candidates with a strong customer service and process-driven background are encouraged.  The new Admissions Officer (maternity cover) will fit into a growing team and offer a fresh perspective to further develop our admissions practice and process.

We are looking for an excellent communicator with strong interpersonal and organisational skills, excellent customer service experience, keen attention to detail and accuracy. The ability to learn new skills quickly and apply these effectively is key, as is a can-do attitude and the ability to work as part of a team and on their own initiative. You must have worked in an environment which is busy and rapidly changing and where working to deadlines is the norm and a flexible approach to work is essential. A proven ability to build relationships with colleagues outside of their immediate team will be highly beneficial. 

Flexibility is important to the role, as post-holders will be expected to attend open days (on Wednesday evenings and on Saturdays) and other events outside of normal working hours as deemed appropriate.

All applications must be qualified to Degree or above, experience of working in higher education would be preferable as well as an awareness of Equality and Diversity issues.
